Managing the Anxiety Within Ourselves
Friday, April 4
10:45 AM - 12:15 PM
1.5 CDE Credits – DDS, DH, DA, AUX
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting over 40 million Americans every year. The dental office is no exception. Dental professionals often experience anxiety, which can impact their ability to provide optimal care. By addressing and managing our own anxiety, we can create a more supportive environment for ourselves and our patients. It is crucial to develop strategies to recognize and cope with our own anxiety to ensure we remain effective and compassionate in our practice. By doing so, we not only improve our well-being but also enhance our ability to help patients overcome their fears and accept necessary dental treatment, preventing disease from taking over.
Course Objectives:
1. Recognize different parts of the brain responsible for anxiety behavior.
2. Identify different medications and their effects to improve, compliment or interfere with anxiety.
3. Apply strategies to enhance yourself, and harmony in the work place.
